For roofers
How roofers get recommended by AI assistants
More customers now ask ChatGPT or Google's AI Mode instead of scrolling a list. You can't pay to be in those answers. You can make sure the places they read say something clear and true about you.
What customers actually ask
- "Who is a good roofer in Nashville?"
- "Roofer that handles hail damage insurance claims near me"
- "Best metal roof installer in Franklin, TN"
Ask those yourself, in a private window, in both assistants. They often name different businesses for the same question.
Where those answers come from
For roofers, these are the places worth checking first:
- Your Google Business Profile, with photos of finished roofs
- Manufacturer contractor directories, like GAF's and Owens Corning's certified programs
- Angi, the BBB and Nextdoor
- Your site, with license numbers, warranty terms and whether you work with insurers
Storm work and insurance claims are what homeowners ask about. If that's your specialty, make it the first line everywhere.
Five things to do this week
- Fill in every field on your Google Business Profile, including services and hours.
- Ask recent customers for reviews that say what you did for them, not just a star rating.
- Get listed, accurately, on the directories above.
- Put checkable facts on your site: licenses, years in business, the exact jobs you take.
- Ask the same questions again next month and see what moved.
