For dentists
How dentists get recommended by AI assistants
More customers now ask ChatGPT or Google's AI Mode instead of scrolling a list. You can't pay to be in those answers. You can make sure the places they read say something clear and true about you.
What customers actually ask
- "Who is a good dentist in Dallas?"
- "Dentist near me that takes Delta Dental"
- "Best family dentist for kids in Plano"
Ask those yourself, in a private window, in both assistants. They often name different businesses for the same question.
Where those answers come from
For dentists, these are the places worth checking first:
- Your Google Business Profile, with insurance plans and services listed
- Healthgrades, Zocdoc and Yelp
- The ADA's Find-a-Dentist directory
- Your site, with each dentist's name, training and the treatments you offer
Patients ask about insurance and kids. If you take a plan or see children, say it plainly on your profile and your site, where an assistant can read it.
Five things to do this week
- Fill in every field on your Google Business Profile, including services and hours.
- Ask recent customers for reviews that say what you did for them, not just a star rating.
- Get listed, accurately, on the directories above.
- Put checkable facts on your site: licenses, years in business, the exact jobs you take.
- Ask the same questions again next month and see what moved.
